Open Studios - What a day! (julia goodman)

Everything for open studio was wonderful - the weather, the people, the food - especially my mom's baked treats!
Thanks to everyone who made the trip. And thank you to my mom and Mariah for helping make the day so lovely!

Amanuensis I, a piece from a series of carvings I am working on based on 19th century letters I found in the Jack Mason Inverness archive. The letters themselves are beautiful, and I am fascinated by the way the writers use the space on the page in terms of efficiency and aesthetics.
