The J.B. Blunk Residency is a program of the Lucid Art Foundation. The Residency exists to support committed artists who are interested in integrating their art making with a lifestyle and spirit of place.
The Residency provides a sanctuary for creative growth, exploration and production.
Cameron Kelly began this blog during her June - July '08 residency, as one of her proposed projects in an effort to give public access to the artists personal experience and process. Each artist is invited to share texts and images of work in progress, thoughts on their time at the residency, inquiries, dilemmas, breakthroughs, etc. Kelly sees this blog as an extension of the residency, a place for artists and community exchange. Visitors are welcome to post comments.

Thanks TeeKay!!! I'm excited about it too. I want to stretch out the lines even further from the stump's original configuration. JB's son, Rufus explained to us that JB would work the same form over and over again, calling the differentiated works "variations". This has stuck with me as encouragement to continue to revisit a form or pattern, looking closely and staying open to new ideas while in the making process. You and others have suggested introducing a drawn line... this may be popping up soon. I'm considering what quality of line this may be and how that can inform the composition... thank you! -cameron
